Amy Bennett
PT, GCMT, MCTA
|
Amy's Special Credentials: Graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch - Received a BS(honors) in Physical Therapy. Took her graduate courses at Curtin University, Perth, W. Australia and earned a Graduate Certificate in Orthopedic Manipulative Physiotherapy. Amy has advanced training in particular techniques that resolve pain problems quickly. The Mulligan Concept (for which she is internationally accredited as an instructor), Total Motion Release, and trigger point dry needling.
What Amy Enjoys Most: Her approach is not the "typical" physical therapy that most patients have experienced. It is designed to make the process of healing or recovery as gentle and pain-free as possible. She believes this is best accomplished by creating a balanced tripod between hands-on therapy, movement re-training, and pain-relief modalities such as the 830 laser. To Amy the patient is an integral contributor to his/her own improvement and will generally be responsible to carry out a home program individually designed and prescribed by the therapist for the patient's particular problems. To Amy she is a Physical Therapist because its the best job in the world! She gets to help people move without pain. Her day-to-day reward is the look her patients get when they suddenly realize they can move and it doesn't hurt.
Hobbies: Golf, cooking, playing with her dogs, traveling, and learning to play her ukulele.
